CONTRAST -- PICTURE PERFECT FRIDAY

CONTRAST of PERCEPTIONS

We think of our freshly washed, waxed and polished car or truck as a spotless beauty.  But there are those who look at such a clean surface as nothing more than a unused blank surface, much like an artists' canvas. . .it is all in the way we perceive the things around us.

Welcome to PICTURE PERFECT

a weekly photo-blog

rules (not that anyone pays them the slightest bit of attention) for the newbies

Each week a theme will be posted up on Wednesday, and you are invited to put up your best picture

with that theme in mind, it should be just

 ONE and ORIGINAL,

 not off the internet,

then post a comment on PICTURE PERFECTS PAGE

----->  http://fotofriday.multiply.com/   <-----

so that everyone can link to your page and see your pic.

By all means mention your camera and lens used!

Open that page for viewing for all...and visit as many as you can!

The entries will close at midnight on Friday.

Most importantly....have fun out there!

(Rules borrowed from Picture Perfects page!  Thank you Heather)

  1. Brilliant! I'm laughing so hard here. Those birds certainly look as though they're waiting to 'paint'. Got to love the sound effects that go with it. Great post, John! Well worth waiting for : )

  2. Oh, those ever deadly pigeons. I got bombarded by one a few years ago. Not a pleasant experience. I'm generally a bird lover, but have no love of pigeons. Rats with wings. Love the sound affects. Too funny!!

  7. You know I am fascinated by watching bird fly in a flock...how they twist and turn in unity. Then they usually fly overhead and decorate my car....

The magic of the moment is then lost@!

Your picture reminds me of a line that crosses over the interstate that I drive under to get home every day. There are always birds lined up there...just waiting for the perfect victim...hehe!

  14. I love the addition of the Gary Larson "Far Side" cartoon. I know from living around beaches, and just in California in general, exactly what the SeaChickens are seeing when they are looking at us. You hit it on the head....as have many of those birds.

  23. I knew it! I should have gotten the clue from your background! You see, many people down here go everywhere with umbrella and use it even if it's a sunny day since they don't want to have a darker skin... (I know - it's the contrary - up there people want tan - down here people want fair skin).

I used to say this to them: 'HUH?' Now though, after seeing the hint of how birds see me, maybe that's not such a bad habit after all...
    Thanks for the laugh, John!

  56. LOL What is funny is some of the birds look like they are looking down at the cars and it makes me think that they are trying to figure out which one they want to aim for and hit. LOL

  57. Took me forever to get around to here, but so worth it! Reminds me of that old Farside cartoon, where pigeons see the world as nothing but targets...
