WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY. . .SURPRISE!!!!!!

Sometimes, in too many ways, and too many things, we are our own worst enemy. . .

met the enemy

One thing that really makes me angry, is too see someone carelessly drop garabage within sight of a trashcan.

The frog does not drink up the pond in which he lives. --Souix proverb

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe. --John Muir  (1838 - 1914)

"The old Lakota was wise. He knew that man's heart away from nature becomes hard; he knew that lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to lack of respect for humans too. So he kept his youth close to its softening influence." --Luther Standing Bear, Oglala Sioux chief

Humankind has not woven the web of life.
We are but one thread within it.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.
All things are bound together.
All things connect
. ---
Chief Seattle, 1854

When all the trees have been cut down,
when all the animals have been hunted,
when all the waters are polluted,
when all the air is unsafe to breathe,
only then will you discover you cannot eat money. ---
Cree Prophecy

When one sits in the Hoop Of The People,
one must be responsible because
All of Creation is related.
And the hurt of one is the hurt of all.
And the honor of one is the honor of all.
And whatever we do effects everything in the universe.

If you do it that way - that is,
if you truly join your heart and mind
as One - whatever you ask for,
that's the Way It's Going To Be
.

  2. I worked a stint with Native Americans..and they seem to have a spiritual all knowing aura about them. Always when I asked them a question, it was many times answered in a question, that I then had to answer myself. The point being, when we ask a question, many times we already know the answer, but hearing it from another, seems to have more impact...(it's deep I know, but think about it)

  4. I am gonna pass this on to my little chicken farmers... They need to understand what their legacy will be if we continue down the path we are all on.

  6. So just how do you think it would effect the universe if we were to "run neiked through the periwinkle????"..................... yeah, that's what I was thinking too!

  7. I am a big one for litter patrol. We are fortunate enough to live by a nice lake and its surrounding parks. We spend a bit of time working with Scouts and other organizations doing park clean up.

When I was in NYC with my teenaged daughter, she stopped one of her friends and made her turn around to pick up her trash. I was so proud...that not only did she think it was important, but that she would speak out to her friends and hammer the point home. Nice to know some of the things you say sink in once in a while.
