Haven't been here in a while and have been missing the group. I tried to get a fog effect in some ocean shots, but nothing really looked right, what ever that is. So there is one picture that I have played with off and on and decided to try for it' This is the hiking path at The Frog Pond in Del Rey Oaks, CA. The camera is a Kodak Easy Share Z612, and used the Roxio PhotoSuite 7 editing program.
The original
I then used the B&W feature in the Paint Brush Tool, and changed all but the green in the distance.
Then I played with my warping tool, and presets, and slightly with the Exposure tool to darken it just a bit; this one is with the Funhouse 5 setting.
I went back to the B&W version and played with the Tint Tool, as it still did not look as dreary and perhaps haunted as I wanted. I did not save the Tint version before warping sorry, the picture is at Wave 1 setting.
This is The Path we probably all feel we have been on at one time or another, and just in the distance, sometimes feeling so out of reach, is light, living growth, life itself is there, waiting.
Thanks Gary for taking your time and your effort to have this for all of us to learn and enjoy.
LIONS, and GATORS, and BEARS OH MY!!!! (The original title of the song according to Gator Folklore)
ooh that is just way too cool.... I love the twisted effect. Beautiful...
ReplyDeleteHere is mine... http://frannier.multiply.com/journal/item/606/Monochrome_Monday
The last one leaves me with the feeling of an enchanted place..... Wow. Had to go back and look at all of them again.
ReplyDeletePenguin are you tring to make the gator have nightmares..i expect to see the wicked flying monkeys at any moment and this does look a bit like my dreams ..this is warped and kewl and i just noticed the music and what a perfect choice well done pengey
ReplyDeleteMan! What creativity! The last one is so spooky and at first glance I felt like it was watching me, with the wave it gives it almost an eye effect. I sure wouldn't want to walk down that path, but it seems I've been there. lol

Very well done...I love them all.
ReplyDeleteIf only it had been the rainy season, the pond comes right up against the path on the left, I could have layered in a Gator!!!
ReplyDeleteaww would have been a sweet place fer gator to play
ReplyDeleteThe perspective on the second one is good but the third one is really excellent. Very eerie with a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thats cool John...kind of looks like a worm hole on Star Trek...where was the original photo taken...thats just a gorgeous place...
ReplyDeleteozzzzssssammmm!!! love the twisted look.
ReplyDeleteyou are the Alter Ego, eh?
wait, i have to check the poll!
Love the effect you did, it truly changed a path that was calm and safe to one that was right out of The Wizard of Oz.
ReplyDeleteLove the worm hole feeling. The effect reminded me of the worm hole created by the starship Enterprise in STAR TREK-The Motion Picture. It has a wonderful distorted feeling o reality to it.
Nice use of the audio file from The Wizard of Oz too.
I know you have been to my page, and thanks for the comments there. Here is a link to what I have done, for this week for those who have not yet been able to see my work.
