REMEMBER

REMEMBER

"AMONG THE MEN WHO FOUGHT ON IWO JIMA, UNCOMMON VALOR WAS A COMMON VIRTUE." Fleet Admiral Chester Minitz, March 16th, 1945

"NEVER IN THE FIELD OF HUMAN CONFLICT, WAS SO MUCH OWED BY SO MANY TO SO FEW"  Prime Minister Winston Churchill, August 20, 1940, during the Battle for Britain.

"YOU, THE MOTHERS, WHO SENT THEIR SONS FROM FAR AWAY COUNTRIES, WIPE AWAY YOUR TEARS.  YOUR SONS ARE NOW LYING IN OUR BOSSOM, AND ARE IN PEACE.  AFTER HAVING LOST THEIR LIVES ON THIS LAND, THEY HAVE BECOME OUR SONS AS WELL."  Mustafa Kemal Ataturk,  ANZAC Memorial, 1934 (Special thanks to my dear friend Fatos, for bringing this quote to my attention)

  6. This is also true in Holland. After the war many US soldiers were buried at a cemetery in the South of Holland (over 8.300 soldiers). The graves were adopted by local people who would tend to the adopted grave as if it were one of their own. Bring flowers and come by on a regular basis.
Nice posting John and I agree with Linda, beautiful music to go with it!

  7. What a cool rendition of Stairway to Heaven. Absolutely thank you to our veterans and current service men and women who so faithfully guard our freedoms and help our brothers and sisters across the globe. And let's not forget those who have come back with serious life altering injuries and memories. We need to support them, not turn our backs on them
