I am afraid that that the g'ment is going to keep on grabbin' more and more of our personal resources to the point it won't be a tea party or Revolutionary War. I will be more like the French Revolution, with mass beheadings of Academia, Left Wing proselytizers and Politicians.
I don't know enough about this to hazard an opinion. I fill my head with art, music and revenge fantasies for my ex boyfriend. It must be scary to be trillions in debt and then have this package on top of that. I really hope the US pulls out of this ok.
Yeah I think Gary has the right idea, I asked a question, but edited it out.
all the gator has to say id read the Federalist Papers folks and understand what the early founders of this nation had to say about what Government was to be about ..I dont get into the politics online but this is a great post pengy
it's a fair enough question to ask... but it's a vastly complex question, and not as simple as laying blame on the feet of one man. Congress and both parties share some of the blame. However, Obama is doing a LOT of talking down the economy, and in doing so, talking down his own country. He is not instilling hope in anyone, and playing to everyone's fears. I don't think that anyone who voted for Obama thought this was the "change they could believe in."
Lol, sorry Buch, I edited the question out. I thought it was too big to answer. Thank you for answering it. My question was basically Why do people not like Obama and did you like Bush, isn't he the one who got the US in debt? I was not trying to start an argument, but really asking, because I don't know anything about it.
lol... i know you are just asking... I don't dislike Obama... but I vehemently disagree with his vision for where he wants to take the US. it's philosophical rather than personal. I did like Bush, both on a philosophical and personal level. I believe history will be kinder to him than how he is perceived in the present. The war in Iraq and Afghanistan did raise the level of debt, but as I understood it, once Iraq became stable, they would pay back much of the costs incurred. I don't know if that is in place, or was never fact at all. It is interesting to note though that the US economy, despite the government debt, was very healthy up until 2006 or so. Interestingly enough, that's when the Democrats regained control of both houses of Congress. Draw your own conclusions, but I don't think that's entirely coincidental. Remember, Congress ultimately controls the US purse strings, not the executive branch. Even if the President vetoes a budget, Congress has the ability to override the veto.
Thanks for that reply Buch. Your government is different from ours and I don't totally understand how it works. I'm interested in hearing any comments about it.
i made this comment on my page... I don't believe Obama understands (or cares about) the level of anger there is right now at him, and at Congress... in a month's time they have shackled our country with incredible debt while not delivering on their promise of job growth and economic growth...
Yes, it's tea party time!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Loved it!!! :)
