I couldn't think what to take or use for this weeks theme. Then LindaO mentioned this picture I had in one of my Multiply albums. Duhhhhh! I had forgotten about it. It was taken last year during a camping trip in Northern California.
This was taken from inside a Lava Tube cave near Medicine Lake. We all have had times like this, things seem dark and closing in, and there is just a bit of light to guide us. Or we may have to wander through that darkness for a while until we see that glimmer. Like that old movie and book cliche' --- Go Towards the Light!
The camera was a Sony Mavica.
Everyone is in darkness until they read the word of God and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Beautiful picture
ReplyDeleteHei John
ReplyDeleteWOW!!
I do remember this pic on the album and commented on it there as well.
Excellent entry on the theme!
Have a super weekend. Rii :)

Have an amazing weekend :)
That's a wonderful picture, John!! Dark places and me don't get along too well together, so had I been there, all you would have seen was my big rearend trying to get through that hole to get out...hehehe!

ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful picture. I am not a member of Picture perfect...and I don't think I'll "enroll" because I'm not really good at this, but I liked this week's theme because it makes me think of breaking through...So I remembered a photo I took this summer in Venice, from a corridor in the "Palazzo Ducale", a corridor on which prisoners were taken to their cells...This is what they could have seen if they had been able to look...
ReplyDeleteSuch a great picture John and oh so perfect for this theme!!!! Great music too....though ominous with a cave!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was actually thinking about this shot...having seen it on your page before...it always makes me a little claustraphopic

ReplyDeleteI do the same thing, I end up thinking of a good one at the last moment, very nice picture you have here. and thank you for coming to see mine
ReplyDeleteAs long as there wasn't a bear in the cave I'd go !! But seriously it is a spectacular picture looking through the opening of the cave to that scene !! Your music was making me type faster and faster now I am all worn out lol
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I just love going through those caves at the lava beds.... I would take my time and try to turn up as much stuff as I could scouting for any critter, fossil or anything... I love this kind of stuff.. Brings back such fond memories.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about Tpot and Canby, yes she lived there a short time. We grew up in Alturas.
ReplyDeleteKewl picture. We had a Sony Mavica back in the day. It's amazing how much more sophisticated digital cameras have become. Remember the floppy discs that you could fit about 12 shots on?
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. very neat the way it was done.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment on my blog.
We couldn't have created that rock cut-out any better, John... that's a great look with that opening. Your story to go with it is perfect, too. Nice take.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by mine.
That's the coolest thing ever!! I just love all of your nature pictures. (I don't get into nature often enough, so I will live vicariously through you!)
ReplyDeleteSuper photo, John. I'm very glad you stopped to take a peek through the rock with your camera : )

ReplyDeleteGreat photo for the theme. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteYou did everything penguinly possible to post a great take on the theme.
((Laughing mischieviously)) I believe that I can out run Tami and Cherie both and get to the prize first!!!
ReplyDelete((I think I can....I think I can...I think I can.... ~ well it worked for the little engine, didn't it?))
This is a cool pic.
ReplyDeleteI've been in a cave before when I was a kid, and I never enjoyed it, cos I have a phobia with darkness.
But this pic doesn't make me scare at all. Maybe because I love the view it has out there.
Have a fun weekend there.
(^o^)v
Oh John, beautiful picture created a map as the frame!!!! Good job from you. Thanks for sharing and visiting mine first. Happy weekend yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
ReplyDeleteWow wonderful picture. It must be a very nice feeling to see the light.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your comment on my blog.Have a nice weekend.
Oh sir, another lovely picture that takes me there. Thank you! ~ Following the light of our thoughts, our perceptions towards continued growth, towards positive, towards pure white light of clarity, accrued wisdoms, forever learning, and just knowing that all is light if we can just "see" it. The light from all others, natures light, the light emanating from all, and the light inside of us ... lots of "lights" ... ~ I want to go there! See inside that "darkness", be able to look at that view. Reminds me of many of my excursions into wilderness, camping, climbing ... Ummmmmmmmmmm... love it. Yea Linda! Beautiful picture!
ReplyDeleteYour icon...LOL!!!!!! Just love them. Keep shining, John Oh Light!
ReplyDeletevery cool point of view shot!!!
