LOOKING THROUGH -- PICTURE PERFECT FRIDAY

You can click on and enlarge the picture for a better view

I couldn't think what to take or use for this weeks theme.  Then LindaO mentioned this picture I had in one of my Multiply albums.  Duhhhhh!  I had forgotten about it.  It was taken last year during a camping trip in Northern California.

This was taken from inside a Lava Tube cave  near Medicine Lake.  We all have had times like this, things seem dark and closing in, and there is just a bit of light to guide us.  Or we may have to wander through that darkness for a while until we see that glimmer.  Like that old movie and book cliche'  ---  Go Towards the Light!

The camera was a Sony Mavica.

  10. This is such a beautiful picture. I am not a member of Picture perfect...and I don't think I'll "enroll" because I'm not really good at this, but I liked this week's theme because it makes me think of breaking through...So I remembered a photo I took this summer in Venice, from a corridor in the "Palazzo Ducale", a corridor on which prisoners were taken to their cells...This is what they could have seen if they had been able to look...

  35. Oh my goodness, I just love going through those caves at the lava beds.... I would take my time and try to turn up as much stuff as I could scouting for any critter, fossil or anything... I love this kind of stuff.. Brings back such fond memories.

  36. To answer your question about Tpot and Canby, yes she lived there a short time. We grew up in Alturas.

  37. Kewl picture. We had a Sony Mavica back in the day. It's amazing how much more sophisticated digital cameras have become. Remember the floppy discs that you could fit about 12 shots on?

  47. This is a cool pic.
I've been in a cave before when I was a kid, and I never enjoyed it, cos I have a phobia with darkness.
But this pic doesn't make me scare at all. Maybe because I love the view it has out there.

    Have a fun weekend there.
    (^o^)v

  50. Oh sir, another lovely picture that takes me there. Thank you! ~ Following the light of our thoughts, our perceptions towards continued growth, towards positive, towards pure white light of clarity, accrued wisdoms, forever learning, and just knowing that all is light if we can just "see" it. The light from all others, natures light, the light emanating from all, and the light inside of us ... lots of "lights" ... ~ I want to go there! See inside that "darkness", be able to look at that view. Reminds me of many of my excursions into wilderness, camping, climbing ... Ummmmmmmmmmm... love it. Yea Linda! Beautiful picture!
