Please click the link below Sgt. Seavey's picture to see how two US Congressman treated a returned and injured United States Vet. It is one of the most reprehensible acts I have seen. Rep. (short for reprehensible) Jack Murtha who was with Rep. (short for Reprehensible) Moran, is the same Rep. Murtha who said our Marines had killed civilians women and children in cold blood in Haditha, Iraq. Guilty before the report and investigation had even been completed. All but one of the Marines have been exonerated, and it seems to be a matter of time before the last one is cleared. The Pompous (I refuse to use the title Honorable that the Representatives prefer) Jack Murtha has refused to apologize for his words.
Those of you who say your support the troops, I have supplied addresses to these two politicians, so that you can write them or phone them to tell them how upset you are about the way they treated this Soldier, and how Rep. Murtha treated the Marines. Tell these two 'public servants', a public and loud apology from them to the citizens they wronged is needed. After all, you say you support the troops.

A future blog will list organisations and groups that will accept donations of goods and money that will be sent to the troops, fund scholarships for children who have lost parents in this war, and accepts letters of support to our troops. No excuse now when someone asks you what you have done for the troops since you say you support them. Hey why wait till the blog, thank a person in uniform, pick up their tab at a restaurant. Have a neighbor who's son, daughter or husband or wife is over seas? Ask them if they need anything, or if they need things for a care package. After all, you say you support the troops.
Those of you who do not support the young men and women in service, have probably not even gotten this far, so have a nice life, enjoy what others have purchased for you with their sacrifice. Others of us will thank the troops for you.
And to those of you from other countries, who also have your soldiers in harms way. Thank you.

Marianne gave me the idea to use a video in this blog. Hers is quite funny, when we lose the ability to laugh at ourselves, we are in trouble. I have to type a disclaimer in, not all democrats have verbally assaulted the troops in this way, but it is a very sad comment that you have the democratic leadership in the forefront, Speaker of the House Ms. Pelosi, Senate Majority Whip Mr. Durbin, Senate Majority Leader Mr. Reid, former Presidential Candidate Mr. Kerry. Secondly I am not endorsing the ProudConservative.com site, but will be looking at it to find out what kind of site it is. Might be very funny.
I am appalled... He wouldn't even acknowledge anything the soldier had said! In fact, to dismiss what he had to say because it wasn't in the form of a question... unforgivable.
ReplyDeleteI was raised by my mother, a Navy daughter, who lost her own father when she was five... I was taught to have the utmost respect for those who fight for us...regardless of where or why. Whether we "believe" in the war they are fighting, cause they are doing so in the interests of our country...on behalf of those who can't, or won't.
Last year I organized a relief kit "fund" raiser at work. While I didn't ask for monetary donations, but more personal items such as boot socks, books, notebooks... it was a huge success. You can Adopt a Soldier at the following website: http://www.adoptaussoldier.org/
Thank you John, for continuing to be a voice...
God Bless you!!
Great blog John, thanks for bringing this to our attention..!!
ReplyDelete(Chuck..if I adopt a soldier, does it mean I get to keep him???)
This is dear to me. I will do my part..... thx
ReplyDeleteYour right John...pompous ass is restraining for what I really feel for these maggots...Our soldiers, each and every one deserve the Hero's welcome they so earned for going to the armpit of the world, putting their lives on the line, and fighting the good fight not only for our Freedom, but for the good of the world. Our leaders sometimes, need a good lesson in "foot in ass"...my patience is coming to an end with these types of politicians...time for an old fashioned revolution...to take back our country from the power brokers.....
ReplyDeleteI am very appalled over this! My son, who is a Army Sgt. stationed in Germany, has served two tours of duty in Iraq. Thks. for letting us know about this! I will be writing to let my voice be heard! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI am utterly speechless, this makes my blood boil. I'll be back, I have a lot to say but I need to gather my thoughts. Thank you John for bringing this to our attention.
ReplyDeleteI think the soldier may want to keep you!!
ReplyDeleteThe guys Murtha and Moron need to be tired for treason I am sick of these people that undermine our boys while they try to kill terrorist where ever they are. I am sure you will have a couple of people that will come on this blog and twist the words saying all of this is Bush fault ...I am sick of everyone blaming this on our President .....dam when are they going to grow some balls and blame the terrorist?...
ReplyDeleteThey are called polititions, and that's the only way they know how to work, lieing, decieving, and spending your money.
ReplyDeletepenguin all i can say is well done here on bringing this to light for then many who weren't aware we have no tv in the swamp so i count on you for earth shaking events im ashamed that my home state (Va) would be the site of one of the pieces of crap...ty (from a vet)
ReplyDeleteGreat blog. Great because I am sure there are others like myself that were not aware of this and it is things like this that I think all voters and Americans should be aware of! I will write them both!!!! Our soldiers.... vets... don't need to get this sort of attitude from anyone!!!!!! Love your idea of picking up a tab ~ We should all be thanking them!!!!
ReplyDeleteAdd my thanks to the rest here for pointing this out to those of us that would have otherwise missed it. As the wife of a 10 yr vet and the mother of a soon to be new soldier (cpl more weeks of A.I.T), it disgusts me to see the way our politicians treat our soldiers, as well as many of our common citizens do too.
ReplyDeleteI agree we should all be doing our part to help support our soldiers, regardless!!
I am currently working with our local VFW on a fundraiser dinner & silent auction to raise money for care packages etc. It is being held on August 2nd,please wish us much luck.
I also volunteer my time 2 nights a week at our local American Legion. My entire family, kids and all, comes out once or twice monthly to volunteer with dinners and other assorted functions there too.
So even if you can't afford to give cash support to our soldiers and vets, there are plenty of ways to give your time instead. Check with your local American Legion, VFW, or VA hospitals for volunteer opportunities in your area if you wish to give time too, I'm sure it'd be much appreciated there, same as it is here.
Great suggestions and ideas RedHotBrat!!!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh Duck, I think you made points with that answer, wish I had thought of it!!!
ReplyDeleteJohn I have thought about this long and hard today. I am still fuming. We have these democratic idiots sitting in there nice suits and making judgements and comments they know nothing about. Sure we all know that there is a war going on in Iraq. I don't think people realize that the troops in Afghanistan are in a terrible violent war. Paul spent on term over in Iraq and saw his friend killed right in front of him. It was a difficult time and I acknowledge the danger there. I support the men and women who are over there. Now Paul is in Afghanistan, he can't talk about what is going on other than he did say to me that it's very hard being there, the things that they are having to deal with is autrocious. Not a toilet to use, bucket it and burn it. No showers none of the luxurys they had in Iraq.
ReplyDeleteI think our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are doing a fantastic job and I can't say enough of how proud I am that these Soldiers and Marines have put their lives on the line for us to have freedom.
How? and I say How in the world can the congress get so mixed up about where the troops are serving their tour of duty... Thanking them for their duty in Iraq, when they were in Afghanistan. It's almost as if they're turning a blind eye to the war in Afghanistan.
No apology, just a smart ass remark. That wasn't a question. oooooooohhhhhhhhhhh, my blood is still boiling. Our children, husbands, wives, cousins, brothers, sisters and so on have chosen to do a job, and my goodness, they deserve to have the utmost respect given to them.
I think I better shut up or I might say something I would regret....LOL
John thank you so much for posting this, I know how much it means to you to know that you are doing the right thing.
I loved Heather's question, if we adopt do we get to keep them. Well I can tell you that whose ever heart you touch by supporting them and their squads or troops will always remember you.
God Bless
GGRRRRRRRR
ReplyDeleteDon't get me started. Pompous is too light a word.
Thank you for posting that.
I like the idea of adopting a soldier. Thanks Duck. Maybe we should each do that.
To slightly disagree with with frannier ... unfortunately it is democrats and republicans both who can be such #$%$#*&.
Glad I could Help - :D
ReplyDeleteI totally agree...the whole Democrat and Republican Merry Go Round makes me want to vomit.........
ReplyDeleteDaisy, I tend to agree with you...I was mainly addressing these idiots on top... LOL
ReplyDeleteA few things I noticed about the video clip, was that Sgt Mark Seavey thanked them politely for coming up there. I also noticed that his voice shook a little , so I am sure he was nervous and I loved it when he pointed out that they thanked the returning troops from Iraq when in fact they were in Afghanistan, and then telling them about completely ignoring the men from their riding when they did come home, you could see the body language of Murtha and Moran, they stiffened up and were probably mad as hell and I applaud this soldier for making them look like the true fools they are, I hope millions of people watch this video and this blog here. I have seen people going to airports everyday just to cheer returning soldiers and to shake their hands in thank you's !! These two guys couldn't even get the country straight where the men were returning from , just goes to show you how uninterested they are, and to think they are working for the government in well paid jobs they should be kissing the ground these soldiers walk on for keeping them safe, while they (soldiers) risk their lives and leave their families to go to war. My godchild/nephew is in Afghanistan and I know the sacrifice he is making and how hard it is, believe me it is no picnic over there , he was just home for a month and he sat in my kitchen and told me things that he saw that no young person should have to see, but he believes in what he is doing, he has bad allergies and the heat and dust sure don't help him but still he believes in what they are doing over there, he feels sorry for the people he sees , who live in such misery that you couldn't believe it . So good for this soldier , I hope so many people tell him even if these too jerks ignored him , thousands of us applaud and appreciate him .
ReplyDeleteWatched the video...hmmmmm. I ask the same question if this is how they support our troops, I wonder, truly wonder what it would be like if they didn't.... Wow.
ReplyDeleteOur service men and women are not the cold blooded killers, they describe, as those of you who have family serving overseas you know that the things they have done and seen have effected them and pained them, but I have seen the drive in my son to do the right thing and that is to do the job he was trained for. He's a squad leader and has a huge responsibilty that he takes seriously to watch his mens backs and they his.
Maybe I am to emotional about this, but until those people experience what are Service Men and Women are going through, they are talking in ignorance, and arrogance.
Maybe some of these folks need to go sit on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan and experience first hand... I'm sure they may change their tune real quick. You get these hotshots who make their visits over to these countries, Iraq, Afghanistan, in their nicely pressed suits, making exchanges and communication. I would love to see them standing on the border with our men and women. Would they truly watch our servicemens backs... They aren't doing it here... Makes me think they wouldn't watch them there. Nothing but undermining them. Not supporting them. I'm rambling... my thoughts are going a 100 miles an hour. .
Oh boy! Thanks John for posting this. I will indeed write. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteDoes this remind you of something? Isn't this what happened after Vietnam! Larry has said all along that these wars will be just like Vietnam, and this is sounding very close to it.
ReplyDeleteOh but not being an American, I am so not buying into the politics here....LOL.
Hi Ronnie,
ReplyDeleteNot sure what your husband means, but I see no resemblence to Vietnam at all in the blog above. To my knowledge, memory, and websearch, did we ever have leading and senior politicians say our troops were terrorists, cold blooded killers, or compare our soldiers to Nazis, running a Soviet gulog or Pol Pot's squads. We did have future politicians say such things during the vietnam war, John Kerry, Tom Hayden, and they continue today, though Hayden has been pretty quiet. There was great outrage over the My Lai killings during Viet Nam after the investigation but never an assault by politicians on the integrity of the American Soldier like we have seen in the present time of war.
I understood that Vietnam soldiers were quite affected by their return here and many people didn't even want to know them. It was also the same in Australia.
ReplyDeleteBahhhh....I hate that my friend's sons have to fight a war anyway. I am scared for them every day. I also hate what happens to them on return. So many of the homeless are veterans and the government just doesn't look after them anyway.
I know you guys have this thing for your country....LOL...and I know that sounds weird, but in a case like the above how can you have such feelings. And why do you guys think you are really in Iran and Afghanistan anyway. Do you believe your government? Do you believe your President? I sure hope not. All those wonderful young lives being risked! It saddens me deeply. I know they all believe in what they are doing and you all should be proud of them for that, and I know you are, but they could be doing so much more at home here.
Frannie I hope this doesn't upset you, but I hate knowing your son is over there fighting.
OH and....I said I wasn't getting involved in politics, but who sent the troops over there in the first place. Republicans or Democrats?
ReplyDeleteThis is a very political video. No doubt made by a republican. In the book I am reading "The First Honest Truth about Lies", it reminds you to ask many questions of such a tape. Who made? Why was it made? Has it been Tampered with in anyway? There are mnay questions I would like answers to before totally believing this tape and there are many things that could be taken out of context. Just think about it.
ReplyDeleteAnd what Larry means about these wars in comparison to Vietnam is that the troops will be pulled out and nothing will have been gained from all these years of war just as with Vietnam. I might add he was in the military for 27 years and is totally against these wars.
I want you to look at a map pf the world.
ReplyDeleteWhat is to the north and to the west of Afghanistan? These areas are really what the war there is all about and I can really say no more because your own government will never tell you. Nor did mine incidentally.
Republicans and Democrats sent the troops over, mostly the democrats have threated to withhold the money for the troops and only the democrats have used such rhetoric about the troops. Ronnie this blog is about how the troops are being treated, I did not want to get this to get off track. If you care, Kennedy's, Kerry's, Durbin's, Murtha's Reid's comment were all front page news on Al Jezeera, and other Arab news outlets. Reid's were mentioned in an Al- Qaida release, which I am still checking the source on. There is a similarity to Viet Nam, in General Giap's book, Big War Big Task. He tells how they considered The Tet Offensive a massive failure and were debating whether to negotiate, until he saw the US News how Tet was portrayed as a Northern Victory, and how that sparked more anti war protests. He then saw the offensive had been a military failure but a massive propaganda success. It encouraged them to stay the course for another day, week month, as long as possible. Much as a Harvard study has found the same for Iraq, it is one thing to protest the war, quite another to say the above about our troops and encourage the enemy to kill one more, to keep fighting another day, or week or month. My opinion is these politicians have cost the lives of young men and woman by their words. Words have power. This was the most fair video of their own words I could find, most have Murtha words about the pressure cut out, most shorten Kerry's education talk, most cut out Durbin's beginning. I did point out in my disclaimer who the video was from, and the web address. Actually I talk more to the troops who are or who have been over than the politicians. I hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you Daisy.
