THE PERFECT SHOWER, IT USED TO BE SO EASY, WHAT HAPPENED

So now research has discovered what the perfect shower is, and scientists have done it with a mathmatical formula.  I am not sure how mathmatics could tell me how to make a perfect shower.  I thought I knew what what a perfect shower was?  On top of this odd news, if this had been done here, I am sure some Congressman would have given millions of our tax dollars for the research, as long as the research was done in the Honorable Congressman's (or woman's) district.   The article follows:

Scientists create formula for perfect shower   The Independent -- Science Section UK 8 Oct. 2008

Scientists have developed a mathematical formula for the perfect shower.

The balance of privacy, pressure, time and temperature in the shower all need to be carefully moderated to create the perfect shower experience, according to Mindlab International.

The team led by neuropsychologist Dr David Lewis developed the formula for Cheltenham-based manufacturers Mira Showers.

The formula took into account several basic shower features, from the force of the jet and the time you take in your shower, to concern that the hot water will run out.

Each shower is rated on a scale of one to 100, with a score of 85 - 100 resulting in a perfect shower.

Dr Lewis said: "Creating the optimum shower is no easy feat, but a worthwhile endeavour. It offers psychological benefits; by varying the temperature of the water and the power of the jets, relaxation or stimulation can be aided.

"Endorphins are then released in the brain to make our mood more positive and feel energised.

"Also, because our skin contains a thousand nerve endings per square inch, creating the perfect shower to stand under is crucial in creating intense and extremely pleasurable physical sensations.

"As an added bonus, showers generate negative ions that also have an uplifting effect on mood, so help to further reduce stress, wash away frustrations and dissolve muscle tension."

The shower formula took into consideration the following seven essential elements: water pressure, environmental conditions, privacy factor, time length of shower, temperature of shower in degrees Celsius, fixture type and spray pattern.

Mindlab International specialises in neuroscience as applied to consumer behaviour and decision-making.

Dr Lewis and his team surveyed 1,000 adults in the UK for the study held last month.

I think I could have saved a lot of time and a lot of money if they let me try my hand at this research.  Talking to a few friends, 99 percent overwhelmingly  voted this the perfect shower:

Have fun, and remember, in the drought stricken parts of the US, saving water is a duty!!

WATER A PICTURE PERECT EVENT

WATER  This weeks theme:

BURNEY FALLS, Northern California, 2006

the picture can be clicked on for a larger view.

Camera was a Sony Mavica

from: The Tao te Ching

The highest motive is to be like water:
water is essential to all life,
yet it does not demand a fee
or proclaim its importance.
Rather, it flows humbly to the lowest level,
and in so doing it is much like Tao. (8)

Nothing in the world is weaker
or more yielding than water;
yet nothing is its equal in wearing away
the hard and the strong.
There is nothing quite like it.

Thus, the weak can overpower the strong;
the flexible can overcome the rigid.
The whole world can perceive this,
but does not put it into practice. (78)

Welcome to PICTURE PERFECT

a weekly photo-blog

rules (not that anyone pays them the slightest bit of attention) for the newbies

Each week a theme will be posted up on Wednesday, and you are invited to put up your best picture

with that theme in mind, it should be just

 ONE and ORIGINAL,

 not off the internet,

then post a comment on PICTURE PERFECTS PAGE

so that everyone can link to your page and see your pic.

By all means mention your camera and lens used!

Open that page for viewing for all...and visit as many as you can!

The entries will close at midnight on Friday.

Most importantly....have fun out there!

POSITIVE ATTITUDES

Linda has a great blog on Positive Energies/Attitudes. I suggest you read it, she is listed in my friends box, holding the cutest little baby! She got me to thinking, (as most of her blogs do), about Dr. Masaru Emoto. I orginally became of aware if his research in the movie WHAT THE BLEEP DO WE KNOW.

He has written several books on his research into the effects of positive, and negative thoughts on the formation of water crystals. Fascinating. Some of his titles are:

THE MIRCLE OF WATER
THE SECRET LIFE OF WATER
THE HIDDEN MESSAGES IN WATER
MESSAGES FROM WATER
I would recommend getting one of these books (he has more books out that are not listed) and reading it for yourself.

His main concept is called HADO. The following is taken from HADOlifeUSA:

“Hado creates words, Words are the vibrations of nature
Therefore beautiful words create beautiful nature
Ugly words create ugly nature This is the root of the universe.”
by Masaru Emoto

The Japanese researcher in question is Dr. Masaru Emoto, chief of the Hado institute in Tokyo. He is the author of many books concerning the phenomenon of ' Hado'. The two ideograms comprising this expression Hado (pronounced hadou to rhyme with shadow) literally mean "wave" and "move". This following definition is how Dr. Emoto himself describes the phenomenon, which led him to a series of remarkable discoveries pertaining to the nature of water.

Hado: The intrinsic vibrational pattern at the atomic level in all matter. The smallest unit of energy. Its basis is the energy of human consciousness.

Hi main area of research is forming water crystals subjected to various thoughts and prayers, a picture is worth a thousand words:

This is a water crystal that was subjected to the words: YOU MAKE ME SICK, I WILL KILL YOU

This was subjected to the words: LOVE AND APPRECIATION.

******************
We are 70 percent water, years and years ago, I was dating a nurse, and I asked her once if there was any truth in the 'old wives tale' of the full moon making people act up. She worked in the psychiatric ward, and she said without hestitation that the patients acted up more, and there were more people admitted around the time of a full moon than any other time of month. Any other professional people out there, I would appreciate your comments.
That is where I started to wonder about the pull of the moon on us, the same as the pull on the oceans. Then when I read of Dr. Emoto's work it got my curiosity going again. I am still reading and researching, it is a fascinating journey.
For you photographers out there, and I know there are many talented ones in 360, this link will explain how the crystal photographs are taken if you want to try yourself. Looking forward to hearing of your outcomes.
Thank you for taking the time to read and reflect. God bless us one and all.
